Bruce Michael Paine (Music)

Bruce Michael Paine's career has spanned four decades. He started his career as a folksinger in Greenwich Village (NYC) in the 1960s playing many of the venues that were made famous by the likes of Bob Dylan. Like Dylan, Bruce’s music became "electrified" by the middle of the decade, and he signed an exclusive recording contract with Ahmet Ertegun's Atlantic Records. Bruce's group, Apple Pie, toured incessantly, opening for the immortal Jimi Hendrix, Cream (featuring Eric Clapton), and The Chambers Brothers among others. Bruce moved on to the world of theater as star of the San Francisco production of the Broadway hit Hair. Following his stint in Hair, Bruce relocated to London where he was recruited as vocalist for the Polygram recording group, Steamhammer, later returning to the States to star in the stage production of Jesus Christ Superstar.

An avid Harley-Davidson owner and longtime session vocalist, Bruce has appeared in numerous films and television series, including a pilot for ABC and a short-lived series co-starring with George Clooney. In the late 1980s and early 1990s Bruce was partners with the late actor Ray Sharkey in a rock n’ roll club called Radio.

Around Los Angeles, Bruce has been a mainstay locally with two bands he has performed with over the years: The Bruce Michael Paine Band, a Blues/Rock, R&B, and Soul outfit; and Iguana, a twelve-piece Latin Jazz Fusion band.

Bruce has recently put the finishing touches on his first literary effort, The Rock ‘n’ Roll Chronicles, by a man who has shared the spotlight with some of the world’s most legendary musicians. He also can be heard on CD as the lead vocalist for recording artists Marianna's Trench.
